Buea (Fako) - Cameroon’s ace sports reporter, Zachary Nkwo, is no more. As confirmed by his junior brother, Professor Julius Ngoh, Zac, as he was fondly called, died at the Buea Catholic Mount Mary Hospital at 9am yesterday Sunday 4 June, 2017 at the age of 68.

Zac had been interned for five days following a malaise. He was taken to hospital by his younger brother, Professor Julius Ngoh, the renowned history lecturer with the University of Bamenda.  Cameroon Tribune sought for information about burial arrangements and Professor Ngoh explained that the family was still to meet for necessary arrangements. The corpse is currently at the Buea Regional Hospital mortuary.

Zac was a husband, father and friend to countless persons. The general public of Buea where he resided for the last two decades would remember his stentorian voice as he impresario the last Mount Cameroon race of hope last February at the Buea Omni-sports Stadium.

Zac, a favourite of cool discussion and gesticulation demonstrating key segments of his speech raising his hand, would frequently visit the Clerks Quarters for a drink. Recently, he was retiring towards a closer spot near his home at Bokwaongo-Buea where many friends enjoyed his company.

The man who spent three decades criss-crossing the globe accompanying Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions with the then Radio Cameroon and later CRTV’s microphone became a sports encyclopedia for the many who sought to know.  Death is a boulevard for all, Zac. Adieu.
